Graduated from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, 1991.
Master's degree from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, 1994. Master's thesis title: "Parasitic wasps (Aphidiidae, Hymenoptera) and their influence on the seasonal dynamics of the alfalfa aphid Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris (Aphididae, Homoptera)".
He defended his doctoral dissertation at the same faculty, in 1998. The title of the dissertation: “Faunistic-ecological and taxonomic study of parasitic wasps (Aphidiidae, Hymenoptera) of the agroecosystem of the southeastern part of the Pannonian Plain”.

Movement in service

He was elected as a trainee assistant at the Department of Comparative Morphology and Systematics of Animals at the Faculty of Biology in 1991, and as an assistant at the same department in 1995.
He was elected as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade in 2000.
He was elected as an associate professor at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade in 2006.
He was elected a full professor at the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade in 2011.
He was elected as a corresponding member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2021.

Research area

Biodiversity, systematics, morphology and ecology. Reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships using integrative systematics methods. The most common model system is the parasitic wasp and associated trophic associations, as well as other organisms. Applied entomology: metapopulation models, parasitoid-host interactions, predator-prey, biological control.
