Research area
Multidisciplinary research that includes morpho-histology and ecology of ground beetles (Carabidae: Coleoptera: Insecta), examination of carabid glandular secretions with chemoecological implications, in vitro examination of the antimicrobial, antiproliferative, antiadhesive, antiinvasive and cytotoxic effects of defensive secretions of carabid pygidial glands, as well as examination of their bioactive compounds, biophotonics and application of microfluidics in the development of a laboratory chip for testing antimicrobial activity.
Techniques: non-linear microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, confocal microscopy, In vitro assays for testing various biological activities, immunohistochemistry.
