Since its establishment, the work of the Center has been particularly focused on continuous support for high schools that have classes with students gifted in biology and chemistry. Support has been implemented through guest visits by teachers and associates of the Faculty of Biology to theoretical and practical classes in school biology classrooms, and partly through professional and educational visits to the Botanical Garden "Jevremovac" and attendance at theoretical and practical classes in the Faculty's premises. Students gifted in biology are also involved in cooperation with students of the Faculty of Biology. Thus, students of these high schools have been guests at the Immunization Week and the National Science Day. The Center's associates, as members of state project teams, participated in the development, finalization and review of the new Standards of Educational Achievement for the second and third cycles of education in Serbia, as well as the development of the Biology Teaching and Learning Program for the third cycle of education in Serbia, for several high school majors that enroll gifted students. The Center's associates successfully organized and implemented planned activities related to the competition of elementary school students in Serbia organized by the Serbian Biological Society and the Faculty of Biology. Also, in coordination with the Serbian Biological Society and the Faculty of Biology Management, the Center's associates actively participated in the formation of the positions of the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Biology related to current topics in education, as well as in the Faculty's Team for the Implementation of the State Matura Project.
