The Faculty of Biology of the University of Belgrade expresses its strongest protest regarding the arrest of our student during last night's peaceful civic gathering.

This conduct directly threatens the constitutionally guaranteed right to freedom of expression and assembly, which is the foundation of every democratic society.

We reiterate our appeal and demand that the competent authorities stop all forms of violence and immediately release our student from custody, as well as all other detained students.

As an institution of knowledge and critical thinking, the Faculty of Biology stands in the protection of fundamental human and civil rights.
